Our Beliefs

We believe at the foundation of all sound doctrine is the cross of Jesus Christ. The perfect sacrifice of Jesus offers salvation to anyone who receives Him, by grace through faith.

Doctrine of God

We believe in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God. We believe God’s holiness, righteousness, and love are consistent and true of all three persons of the Trinity. (Isaiah 6:3; Psalm 145:3; 1 John 4:8; Rom. 3:26)

Doctrine of Revelation

God has made Himself known to the world in Jesus Christ, the Scriptures, and creation. (Colossians 1:15; Romans 1:19-20; John 1:14; John 14:9; Luke 24:27, 44-45)

Doctrine of Scripture

We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word, is eternal, without error, and is the sole authority for life. We believe all scripture offers wisdom and direction to the believer for every part of life. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:8)

Doctrine of Creation and Providence

We believe that God created the world from nothing and governs all things at all times in all places. (Gen. 1:1; Col. 1:16-17; Rev. 19:6; Job 42:1-2; Isaiah 43:13; Daniel 4:35; Matthew 19:26; Eph. 1:19)

Doctrine of Humanity

We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth. (Genesis 1:26-27)

Doctrine of Sin

We believe that sin has fractured all things, including every human being, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:9-10,23; Romans 6:23)

Doctrine of Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:1-10; John 14:6; John 3:16-17; 2 Cor. 5:21)

Doctrine of the Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine as light in darkness, making disciples for the glory of God. We believe the Church is a people, not a building or event. We believe Jesus has equipped and called the Church (His people) to accomplish His mission of building His heavenly kingdom through making disciples here on earth. (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 13:47)

Church Ordinances

We believe and practice two ordinances of the Church. One is Baptism by immersion, and the other is open Communion.

Baptism

We believe and practice baptism by immersion as a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person’s union with Christ in the likeness of His death and resurrection. We believe that baptism comes after a person has trusted Christ as Lord and savior of their life. Baptism is an outward physical expression of an inward spiritual birth.

(Matthew 3:13-17; Matthew 28:19; Acts 22:16; Acts 16:31-33)

Communion

We believe the Lord’s Supper is open to anyone who identifies as a believer. This ordinance symbolizes the breaking of Christ’s body and the shedding of His blood on our behalf and is to be observed repeatedly throughout the Christian life as a sign of continued participation in the atoning benefits of Christ’s death.

(Luke 22:14-20; Acts 2:42; 1 Cor. 11:23-26).
